Alfonso Herrera

He is one of Latin America's most recognized talents. As an actor, Alfonso chooses memorable characters that challenge him, as well as stories that can transcend in film, television and theater.

There have been many milestone titles in his filmography. With "La Dictadura Perfecta" (Dir. Luis Estrada), the highest grossing film of 2014 in Mexico, he established himself as one of the best actors of his generation in Latin America. Thanks to the film "El Elegido" (Dir. Antonio Chavarrías) he made his breakthrough in the Spanish market with a work that meant the challenge of playing a character with three different identities, speaking English, Spanish and French. With "El Baile de los 41" (Dir. David Pablos), he receives the Ariel Award for Best Actor (2021), securing the recognition of the press and the public. He stars in "Me casé con un idiota" (Dir. Batan Silva) alongside Paulina Gaitán; later he premieres "¡Qué Viva México!" (Dir. Luis Estrada), which would become one of the most watched Mexican titles inside and outside the country at the time of its release on Netflix; and he also stars in "Tesis sobre una domesticación", a production of La Corriente del Golfo based on the novel of the same name by Camila Sosa Villada. Alfonso, in addition, is already part of Zack Snyder's universe by joining his latest film works, "Rebel Moon - Part 1" and "Rebel Moon - Part 2".

Alfonso has also lent his voice to different characters in films for Latin dubbing. His participation in the titles "The Lorax" (Universal Pictures), "The Croods" (DreamWorks Animation), "DC League of Super Pets" (Warner Animation Group), "Patos!" (Universal Pictures) and "The Boy and the Heron" (Estudio Ghibli), a Golden Globe, BAFTA and Oscar 2024 award-winning title, stand out.

Herrera rose to fame for her participation in the television project "Rebelde", work that will be followed by higher-caliber productions such as "The Exorcist" (FOX); "Sitiados: Mexico" (FOX); "Queen of the South" (FOX); "Sense8", a series for Netflix created by the Wachoswki sisters; and a special participation in the last season of "Ozark", also for Netflix.

In theater, his performance in productions such as "Pillowman", "Nadando con tiburones", "El Paraíso de la Invención" and "La Sociedad de los Poetas Muertos", a work that received the Metropolitan Audience Award (2018).

With twenty years of career, a captive audience and a solid validation of his work by specialized critics, Herrera is positioned as one of the most prestigious actors of the contemporary scene.
