Yago and Carlo Muñoz are a talented directing, producing, and writing duo. After individually making a name for themselves in different areas of the industry, in 2019 they decided to combine their talents following international acclaim for their first film, PAPER BOATS, which they directed, wrote, and produced together.
The film debuted at HBO's New York Latino Film Festival in 2019, where it won Best Film. It was an official selection at the NYC Indie and Foreign Film Festival, Los Angeles Indie Film Festival, Cambridge Film Festival (UK), New Vision International Film Festival (Netherlands), Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival and the Guanajuato International Film Festival. Paper Boats had its commercial release on Amazon Prime USA in 2021.
After their debut, they formed their production company Desierto Films. They have produced several music videos and short films that have won awards at national and international festivals, such as "Chica de Fábrica" by Selma Cervantes, which is part of the official selection of the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. During 2024, they developed a feature film, and in December 2025, they are releasing "Mirreyes VS Godinez, a Christmas Special," available only on VIX. They have also filmed a documentary about the life of Paul Kagame, the current president of Rwanda.
