Santiago Giralt was born in 1977 in a small town in the Argentine Pampa called Venado Tuerto. He is a prolific and multidisciplinary artist: novelist, filmmaker, screenwriter, playwright, theater director, actor and producer. His diverse creative work deals with LGTBQ issues, women's rights, different forms of family and the construction of memory.
As a filmmaker, he wrote and directed more than a dozen films released worldwide at international festivals and global content platforms. Some major titles include: Before Premiere, Jess & James, Here Kitty Kitty, Queer Diaries and the hit indie comedy saga upa! His latest film Norma was released on Netflix on December 22, 2023 and was number 1 in the rankings in Argentina and Uruguay and had over 1,000,000 clicks in its first week.
