Mexican film director, best known for directing the award-winning short film and future feature MAR I ANA, which has garnered more than 20 nominations, including Best Indie Short Film at the Cannes World Film Festival and Best Film at the LGBTQ+ Toronto Film Festival 2021. In addition to being an official selection at FICG36 and part of the Maguey Award. She recently directed the feature film "Sisters" starring Virginia Novello, Valeria Maldonado and Marta Cross. Novo developed as a Director and Producer at the New York Film Academy, where she completed her BFA in Filmmaking. Mar Novo was part of the development as Executive Producer in charge of the film "God is a Bullet" directed by Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook of a Passion, 2004), starring Jamie Fox, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, January Jones and Maika Monroe also produced by Patriot Pictures and Itaca Films. He is currently in post-production on the series Yellow for Starz+ starring Tessa Ia, Lizeth Selene and Martin Saracho; and another series for Univision/VIX from The Immigrant production house.
