Lorena Padilla / Director

Lorena Padilla has an MFA in dramatic writing from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, which she completed as a Fulbright scholar. She writes scripts for television series and feature films from Mexico, a country to which she returned after living in five countries, ten cities and twenty-three different departments for more than ten years. His most recent work has been writing films and series for Fábula, and a drama series for Viacom directed by Julia Solomonoff. His debut feature "Martinez", which he wrote and directed, participated in Script Station/Berlinale Talents, Torino Film Lab, CineQuaNonLab and received support from IMCINE, Tribeca Film Institute, Filma Jalisco and Austin Film Society. "Martinez" won the Hecho en Jalisco award at the Guadalajara Film Festival and participated in more than a dozen international festivals, including the San Francisco International Film Festival, the Calgary International Film Festival, the Santander International Film Festival and the Glasgow International Film Festival.

Lorena recently directed a series for the production company Gato Grande which will soon be available on Amazon. She is currently writing her second feature film.
