Julia Solomonoff / Director

Argentine filmmaker based in New York, screenwriter and director of the feature films: "Hermanas" (Toronto 2005), "El último verano de la Boyita" (San Sebastian 2009) and "Nadie nos mira" (Best Actor, Tribeca 2017) "El último verano de la Boyita" was produced by Almodóvar and won a score of international awards, including Screenplay, Direction and Best Film.

He is currently developing the series "Off Peak", finalist of SFF Fund and MacDowell residency. For TV he made the documentary series "Aerocene Pacha" and "Paraná, biografía de un río", "The Suitor" and "Chin Chon Fan". His short films received awards from DGA, FIPRESCI, Milos Forman and an Academy Award nomination.

His productions include "Cocalero" (Sundance 2007), "Stories That Only Exist When Remembered" (Venice 2011), "Pendular" (Berlin 2017), "Crossed Memories" (Moscow 2013), "We All Have a Plan" (Starring Viggo Mrtensen, Toronto 2012), "The Third Shore" (Executive Produced by Martin Scorsese, Berlin 2014) and "Zama".

She is currently developing Alessandra Sanguinetti's "La ilusión de un verano sin fin". She has worked with the talented directors Lucrecia Martel, Alejandro Landes, Julia Murat, Celina Murga and Ana Piterbarg in feature films that participated in Venice, Berlin, Toronto and Cannes. She was also assistant director for Isabel Coixet, Carlos Sorin, Martin Rejtman and Walter Salles in "Diarios de Motocicleta".

Since 2009 she has been based in New York, teaching directing in the MFA programs at New York University and Columbia University. She is currently Head of the Directing Department at Feirstein School of Cinema, Brooklyn College.

She is currently serving as Executive Producer and Showrunner of a series for Viacom to be filmed during 2022.
