Mexican actress and producer, born in La Paz, Baja California Sur.
As an actress she has made more than 50 films including, 'Dos Crímenes', 'Santitos', 'La Hija del Puma', 'Desiertos Mares', 'Fuera del Cielo', 'Rudo y Cursi', 'Días de Gracia', 'Get the Gringo', 'A Better Life', 'Bless Me Ultima', 'Orphans', 'Sonora', Miracle in Prague', 'Two Men in Town', 'El norte sobre el vacío', 'Estoy todo lo iguana que se puede', 'El Águila y el gusano', 'Pedro Páramo'.
She has been awarded as an actress in Colombia, Dominican Republic, France and Mexico. Nominated six times for the Ariel for her work in 'Santitos', 'Dos Crímenes', 'Huérfanos', 'Sonora', 'Chicuarotes' and 'El norte sobre el vacío'. In 2008 she received the award for best actress at the Guadalajara International Film Festival for three films: 'Conozca la Cabeza de Juan Pérez', 'Desierto Adentro' and 'Enemigos Íntimos'. Nominated twice at the Monte Carlo Film Festival for her participation in 'Capadocia'. She received the Pantalla de Cristal Award as best actress for her performance in the series 'Melchor Ocampo, una vida'.
He was part of the National Theater Company, the Center for Theatrical Experimentation of INBA and the Finzi Pasca Company. He has participated in plays such as 'Lope de Aguirre Traidor', 'Ay, Carmela', 'Te Amo', 'Aitestás', 'Visitatio', '1337', 'El Viaje de los Cantores', 'Máquinas de Coser' and 'Las Analfabetas'.
He collaborated in the creation and as Acting Couch in the Cirque du Soleil show: 'Corteo', as well as in 'Rain' and 'Nomade' by Cirque Eloize.
Her television work includes 'Gitanas', 'Deseo Prohibido', 'Caminos de Guanajuato', 'Capadocia', 'Hasta que te conocí', 'Aquí en la Tierra', 'Diablero', 'El Chapo', 'Sense8', 'Ambulancia' and recently 'Señorita 89'.
Her experience as a theater producer includes the shows 'Ay, Carmela', 'Visitatio', 'Aitestás', 'Te Amo', '1337', 'Ícaro', 'La Veritá', 'Bianco su Bianco', 'Per te' and 'Donka' (of the latter, the tour in Mexico).
From 2015 to 2017 she was President of the Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and founding President of the Ibero-American Federation of Film Academies in the same period.
