Mexican actress in film and television, with formal stage education from the Centro Universitario de Teatro (CUT) of the UNAM.
Throughout her career she has received awards such as the Ariel Award for Best Actress (2003) for her work in the film "Aro Tolbukhin: En la mente del asesino" (Dir. Isaac-Pierre Racine, Agustí Villaronga, Lydia Zimmermann); the award for Best Actress for the film "La vida Inmune" (Dir. Ramón Cervantes), awarded at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (2006); and the Pantalla de Cristal award for Best Actress (2010) for "El principio de la Espiral" (Dir. Rafael Rangel). She has also been nominated for the Diosas de Plata as Best Actress (2013) for the film "Aquí entre nos" (Dir. Patricia Martínez de Velasco), and for the Ariel Award in the same category (2017) for her acting work in "Los Parecidos" (Dir. Isaac Ezban).
In film, she has worked under the direction of Michel Franco, Luis Estrada and David Pablos, and is part of national contemporary titles such as "Sexo, pudor y lágrimas" (Dir. Antonio Serrano); "El brassier de Emma" (Dir. Marisa Sistach); "Arráncame la vida" (Dir. Roberto Sneider); "Somos lo que hay" (Dir. Jorge Michel Grau), selected at the Cannes Film Festival for the Directors' Fortnight (2010); "Noches de Julio" (Dir. Axel Muñoz); "Mamá para rato" (Dir. In addition to film and television, Carmen Beato has participated in more than a dozen plays, working under the direction of Luis de Tavira, José Caballero, Héctor Mendoza, Alberto Lomnitz, Mario Espinosa and David Olguín, among others.
