Belén Macías was born in Tarragona and studied higher education in Madrid. She obtained a degree in Information Sciences at the Universidad Complutense and graduated from the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (RESAD) in the field of acting. He studied film scriptwriting at the San Antonio de los Baños Film School in Cuba.
He works as a scriptwriter for different TV series and programs. He directs theater (The Balcony by Jean Genet, The Monk, The Wedding and The Anniversary by Anton Chekhov, The Bald Singer by Ionesco...) and advertising.
In television, as a director, she works in the series: "Un lugar en el mundo" for Antena 3. "La Señora", "14 de Abril, La República", "Víctor Ros" and "Fugitiva" for TVE and Netflix. "Hospital Central" "El Don de Alba" for Tele 5. Mothers. Amor y Vida for Mediaset and Amazon.
Directed the tv-movies: "La Atlántida", "El Monstruo del pozo", "Juegos de familia" for FORTA.
He directed the miniseries "La Princesa de Éboli" and "Historias Robadas" for Antena 3.

In film, he directed the short films "El Puzzle" and "Mala Espina", which received more than seventy national and international awards, as well as nominations such as the Goya for Best Short Film.
His first feature film "El patio de mi cárcel" produced by El Deseo and selected in competition at the San Sebastian festival won several national and international awards and was nominated for 4 Goya awards. His second feature film "Marsella" produced by Tornasol media has obtained two Goya nominations and several awards.
He is currently in post-production of his third feature film "Verano en rojo" produced by Tornasol media.
