Belén Macías

Belén Macías was born in Tarragona and studied higher education in Madrid. She obtained a degree in Information Sciences at the Universidad Complutense and graduated from the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (RESAD) in the field of acting. He studied film scriptwriting at the San Antonio de los Baños Film School in Cuba.

She works as a scriptwriter for different TV series and programs, as a director, she works in the series: "Un lugar en el mundo" for Antena 3. "La Señora", "14 de Abril", "La República", "Víctor Ros" , and y "Fugitiva" for TVE. "Hospital Central", "El Don de Alba", "Mothers. Amor y Vida", "Pura Sangre" and "Pura Sangre" for Mediaset and Amazon Prime Video. for Mediaset and Amazon Prime Video.

"A New Dawn" for Atresplayer and finally "El Juicio" (The Trial) series produced by 3PAS that will premiere next year on Amazon Prime Video LATAM starring Eugenio Derbéz.

In cinema, he directed the short films "The Puzzle" and y "Mala Espina" (Bad Thorn)which received more than seventy national and international awards, as well as nominations such as the Goya Award for Best Short Film.

His first feature film "El patio de mi cárcel" (The courtyard of my jail) produced by El Deseo and selected in competition at the San Sebastian festival won several national and international awards and was nominated for 4 Goya awards. His second feature film "Marsella", produced by Tornasol media produced by Tornasol media has obtained two Goya nominations and several awards.

His third feature film "Verano en Rojo" (Summer in Red)based on the novel of the same title by Berna González Harbour, has received great public and critical acclaim. He is currently writing his fourth film.
