Aura García Junco / Writer

Aura García-Junco is a writer and screenwriter. She has published two novels, "Anticitera", artefacto dentado (FETA 2019, Booket 2022) and "Mar de piedra" (Seix Barral 2022); a book of essays "El día que aprendí que no sé amar" (Seix Barral 2021) and a book of autobiographical narrative "Dios fulmine a la que escriba sobre mí" (Sexto piso, 2023). In 2014, 2017 and 2020 she was a grantee of the Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes; and in 2016, of the Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas. In 2021 she was selected by the prestigious magazine Granta as one of the 25 most outstanding young storytellers in Spanish.
Since 2020 she has been working as a screenwriter for film and series with platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, Vix and Lionsgate. Highlights include "Belascoarán" (2022, Netflix), the second season of "Señorita 89", "Pinches momias" (Vix, 2023) and "La liberación" (Amazon, 2024). He is currently working with director and writer Kyzza Terrazas on a feature film project whose script was selected for the Story Lab of the Morelia International Film Festival in this twenty-first edition.
