Mexican actress graduated from the Centro Universitario de Teatro (CUT) of the UNAM, with an extensive career in film, theater and television.
Her filmography includes around 50 feature films, more than 30 plays and up to 20 television productions. In film, she has worked under the direction of important figures in the industry, such as Alfonso Arau, Arturo Ripstein, Catalina Aguilar Mastretta, Carlos Carrera and Fernando Sariñana, which positions her as one of the most prominent names in the Mexican industry.

Marise Sistach), and in the category of Best Actress (2023) for "La Civil" (Dir. Teodora Mihai). This title is one of her most celebrated works; it was for this performance that she received an eight-minute standing ovation from the audience at the Cannes Film Festival (2021), and earned her the Ariel Award for Best Female Performance (2023) and the Canacine Award for Best Actress (2022).
It has also been recognized at the International Latin American Film Festival in Lérida, at the Casa de México in Spain, at the International Latin Film Festival in San Francisco and at the Guadalajara International Film Festival with the Silver Mayahuel Award for Mexican Cinema (2023), among other mentions.
Arcelia's work has been recognized with important mentions at the national level, receiving three Silver Goddesses for the films "Cilantro y Perejil" (Dir. Rafael Montero) in the category of Best Actress (1997); "El Viaje de Teo" (Dir. Walter Doehner) in the category of Best Female Supporting Role (2015), and "Verónica" (Dir. Carlos Algara, Alejandro Martínez-Beltrán) in the category of Best Actress (2018).
In television she has been part of productions such as "La Hora Marcada", a cult anthology directed by Guillermo del Toro and Alfonso Cuarón; "Camelia la Texana" (Telemundo); "Dos Lunas" (Fox); "Juana Inés" (Canal Once) in which she stars; "El Chema" (Telemundo); "El Señor de los Cielos" (Telemundo); "El Club" (Netflix), "Un Extraño Enemigo" (Prime Video) and "Las Muertas" (Netflix).
