Alejandro Aimetta, is an Argentine director, writer and producer born in the city of Córdoba in 1986. He graduated in photography and advertising at La Metro, Escuela de Diseño y Comunicación Audiovisual ARG and art direction at Escuela Superior de Artes Aplicadas, Lino Enea Spilinbergo.
In 2012, Alejandro settled in vibrant Mexico City where he began his journey in filmmaking through screenwriting and directing courses and seminars at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. In addition to continuing his training in directing actors under the tutelage of Luis Mandoki and in screenwriting taught by Guillermo Arriaga.
Since then, Alejandro has excelled and developed in roles as creative director in advertising and later as director, producer and showrunner of series with different studios and digital platforms. Consolidating his position as the first Spanish-speaking showrunner.
In the last decade, Aimetta has directed a wide range of projects, including documentaries, fiction series and feature films, not only in Argentina and Mexico, but also in countries such as Spain, Italy and Uruguay. Among his works, the following stand out "Maradona, blessed dream" (Amazon Prime Video, 2021), which won the award for best Latin American production at the Luces Awards in Peru, best fiction series at the Sur Awards; and accumulated 10 nominations for the Condor Award. It has also received nominations for "El secreto de Selena" (TNT, 2019), being nominated for best director at the Produtv Awards; "El Cesar" (Space and ESPN, 2018), nominated for best drama series at the MTV Movie & TV Awards; "Su nombre era Dolores" (Univision and Tv Azteca, 2017), nominated for best series at the Platinum Awards; and. "Hasta que te conocí" (Disney Media- TNT- Telemundo, 2016), which was nominated for Best International Series at the Emmy International Awards. His most recent film. "Mientras cupido no está" (Disney+, 2025) recently released.
